Filmme Fatales issue #5 launch
Written by Max Olijnyk — 23rd October 2014

On a balmy springtime evening, Brodie ‘The Boss’ Lancaster launched issue #5 of her terrific zine Filmme Fatales in our shop. A bumper gallery of good and not so good photographs makes the previous sentence indisputable. Brodie took the good ones and I took the crap ones.

Ariel’s t-shirt conveyed a very timely statement for the gathered disciples

Joe with a nicely packed pack of popco… hang on, he’s packing a pack of donuts! What a character!

This must’ve been early on in proceedings. Hints: Penny is eating a Snickers and it’s light outside. Kane always looks that smooth, though. It doesn’t matter.

Greta, Brodie and the real star of the night, issue #5. Oh, and the rest of the issues. Come to think of it, Brodie was the real star of the night, really.

Ariel, moments after pinching a copy of issue #5 from under Brodie’s unsuspecting nose. Busted! The weird thing is Brodie took the photo.

Kaitlyn (on the right) did a mad as illustration of Anne Hathaway for issue #5. Not too sure about the chick on the left, but she seems cool. Chenks (in the middle) made this website. Alice (next to Chenks) had her birthday on the weekend. What a crowd!

Claudia’s friend and Claudia made vastly contrasting fashion choices for the evening, but mainly in terms of colour. Bravo all round.

Leili approved – or maybe she forgot to put her eyedrops in one eye. I doubt it, but this hayfever is pretty nasty.

These girls don’t need blue hats, because they all have fantastic hair.

A couple of cool chicks. Man there are a lot of photos in this gallery and we haven’t even got to my crappy ones yet!

000041

Ah, here we are. You can tell which ones are mine because they look like they were taken in Poland in the 1980s. This is me with the great Trisssstan Ceddia. Man he’s a good guy.

000040

A woman and her Landy

000039

It was great that Seb lent us his popcorn machine

000038

I couldn’t believe it when Joe rocked up with this box of donuts. I actually shrieked, which would’ve been fine but it was in the middle of Brodie’s speech.

000037

I was working the bar all night, you see, so the bulk of my photos were of people just after I’d given them a free beer. Who were they to refuse?

000036

What a clown I am

000035

People just love getting free beer

000034

Mavie and Tim, two of the few men in attendance, could hardly believe their luck

000033

It doesn’t even look like these guys had beers. How did I get them to smile? Maybe they were waiting for popcorn.

000032

I should mention that Joe slipped me this roll of film a while back. “It’s a couple of years out of date,” he told me, “but it should still work alright.” Again, the Polish vibe comes through very strongly on this one.

000031

What a handsome devil

000029

I really like this one of Penny and a can of beer

000027

busy

000026

Mel was on her way to a dress up party, but she actually just looked like she had got dressed up for the launch. Either way, Stuart and I were very impressed.

000025

Charlie, Charlie’s mum and Wona! Oh, and a copy of issue #5.

000024

Clea and her boyfriend again. I’m sorry I forgot your name dude! I even checked Clea’s Facebook, but it’s just pictures of rainbows and shit

000023

Cheers guys

000022

Melissa and Harleigh close out this bumper gallery.
